About Camp Bentzon
Camp Bentzon is a great place for kids to discover the joys of kayaking, sailing and getting out and enjoying themselves in the great outdoors.
We have a range of activities and most of them can be parent or teacher led. Equipment cost is included in your nightly rate.

Camp Bentzon has staff available to lead kayaking and sailing and take bush walks:

Sessions last 1.5 hours. For Sailing/Kayaking includes rescue craft
Equipment supplied:
* kayaking (24) sailing (10 optimists) Mac sailboat, PFDs
Abseiling Tower (10m high) *Rock climbing – Engage an outside provider and you must advise who you have contracted 4 weeks prior to camp. They will need to bring their own certified climbing equipment, ropes, helmets etc.

You can use your own caterer or we can recommend a catering team. For further information and planning your camp see our info pack. All the details you need are included.
Camp Bentzon Kawau Island – getting there
The Camp is Outdoors Mark Certified and meets the Adventure Activities legislation requirements. Camp Bentzon has a regular daily service by Kawau ferries/taxis. We also have access to emergency services should there be a need.
School camp facilities
The camp has 110 beds plus a separate 10 bed facility with wheelchair access and own bathroom. There is a full commercial kitchen with cutlery and plates supplied. If tenting, you must bring your own equipment, including mattress and pillow. With tenting, the maximum we can have is 140 people.
A TV in recreation room for showing photos or movies – bring a laptop with correct cable.

Participant consent – pages 6&7 in the info pack – needs to be included with your school disclaimer for each student and signed prior to students coming.

Organising your school camp booking
We have Rams and other documents to assist with paperwork for your school camp. Please use the password given after booking to access these here. The Rams are a minimum requirement.

School groups price until 31.07.2025 $25.90. Then new rate of $28.30 applies

Cleaning and changeover fee of $235 per group
Prices include use of equipment and GST AT 15%. Minimum group charge applies and differs depending on time of the year.
