Special camps for groups
Camp Bentzon is very popular a place to come with no outside distractions. Many people have been coming on an annual basis for over 20 years. Camp Bentzon provides a facility for school camps during the weekdays. Weekends and school holidays are time for camps for groups: family groups, churches, playcentres, youth groups, scouts, cultural groups and many other types of groups enjoy themselves here.
Things to do on camp
Unless you walk over to the café / pub or would like to do a Mansion House trip, you do not need to spend any additional money. Internet is not provided. The focus is on experiencing the many outdoor activities and outdoor environment right where you are staying. There is, however, phone reception at the end of the wharf if you would like some technology.
The nightly rate price includes the use of camp equipment on a freedom use basis. The managers live onsite. However, no one will be looking after you. There is information and a form to sign prior to use of boating equipment.

A commercial kitchen with dish sanitiser and all cooking utensils/pots/plates cutlery. BBQ facilities.
The camp has 120 beds with pillows and mattresses. If wanting to tent, you must bring your own equipment including mattresses and pillows (ours cannot go outside).
How to organise camps for a group
One person organises the group camps at Camp Bentzon. Our minimum charges are for 50- 70 people, depending on the time of year you come. To get to Kawau Island, the group leader can liaise with the ferry company directly, who will provide a group discount rate.
